Transportation

The ST. CHARLES STREET CAR
(Stop #11) is one block away. You may take it to go to the French Quarter, Aquarium, Superdome, Riverwalk, Convention Center ("north-ish" bound) & it also takes you to the Zoo, Tipitina's, Copeland's, Universities (Tulane, Loyola), Audubon Park, Camelia Grill (or south-ish bound).

The streetcar runs frequently (every few minutes) on Monday - Friday 7:30 - 9:30 am and 3:30 - 6:00 p.m. Between these times it runs about every 20 minutes, and about and about every thirty minutes in the evening until late night. Weekends and/or holidays the schedule is less frequent and can tend to be very full.

The fare is $1.00 exact bill or coins required. It is always better to take a cab after dark! Our desk will have copies of current time schedules.

THE RIVERFRONT STREETCAR
This pretty "Lady in Red" line runs along the downtown riverfront, connecting the Convention Center, arts district with the outer reaches of the French Quarter where it meets the Faubourg Marigny. This streetcar route is a good way to access the Flea Market and "lower quarter" in daytime - you can catch it "up river" where the convention center meets Riverwalk, then ride it for the full distance to the Flea Market, Jazz Museum, etc., etc., at the end of the line , and work your way back up, on foot - or vice versa! The fare is 1.25

AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION

If you want to have a cab meet you at the airport, you can call a head from home to make the reservation. If you are sure of your arrival time, and want to have this special pick up service, you can call one of these three:

(If you prefer to wait until you arrive, the cab line is usually pretty fast)

Please use this service responsibly as these are small, independent business men to whom time is money!!

There is an Airport Shuttle that picks you up at baggage claim and drops you off at our lobby. The cost is $10.00 per person and its takes about 45 minutes to an hour or more, depending on stops

There is also a city bus which you can take from the airport to downtown, at which time you can walk four blocks to the St. Charles Streetcar going Uptown. This is inexpensive, but not for the weak or faint of heart! The cost is about $2.00 per person.

Cab service around town is readily available from our lobby as are Swamp, Plantation and City Tour pick-ups.
