72 Hour Beach Vacation

When people think of New Orleans, they associate it with music, drinking, history, and mardi gras. But rarely do they think of it as a coastal city with access to beautiful beaches. However beautiful beaches are just a short drive away!

If you take interstate 10 east for about 2 hours, you can hit some beautiful white sand beaches of the gulf coast. A friend and I took a trip this weekend to Destin, Florida, which is about a 3-4 hour drive from New Orleans.

The beach was gorgeous and the water was warm -- while the restaurants may not be up to the standard of our New Orleans eating - it was a lovely place to spend some time in the sun.
